Water is a basic human need. In villages, the struggle for a healthy life starts from the nearest water source. Cooking a meal or drinking water is a risk to numerous lives in the villages due to the lack of clean water. It’s a challenge in rural areas to find clean water. Wells have been polluted with bacteria, industrial waste, and irrigation water. Unfiltered and dirty water is a life-threatening problem that can lead to waterborne disease.
Hands of Hope is engaged with a determined water charity Canada, which brings hope and solutions that have been affecting the communities in rural areas for generations. Hands of Hope’s mission is to transform these villages by developing water filter plants and saving lives by breaking this cycle. Our clean water project in Pakistan highly impacts the villagers by addressing basic human needs and creating a platform for health care and a brighter future.
Water Crisis in Pakistan:
The fact about the water crisis in Pakistan needs urgent action to be taken. According to UNICEF, about 21 million people are unable to have access to clean and filtered water. Children under five in rural areas are at high risk due to waterborne diseases like cholera, hepatitis, typhoid, and dysentery, which are major causes of death. The water crisis is more alarming in the villages, where people are struggling to find clean water.
Imagine yourself in the community, your heart fears every time any of your family members, especially your child, drinks dirty water and resulting in serious illness, and due to a lack of medical care, there’s no proper treatment, which can increase the death rate in rural areas. If they go to the city for the treatment, it will force the family to sell their assets. Clean water remains not only a health concern, but it’s now becoming a social and economic injustice.
The climate conditions in Pakistan make the situation worse. The major cause of the floods, the destruction of water resources, and drought is the unpredictable monsoon season. With the donations from the Canadian charity Water, we can find a solution for these problems. We can make the future better and save lives by donating to construct water plants in Pakistan.
Our Approach for the Clean Water Project in Pakistan:
Hands of Hope believes in the power of empowerment, change only comes from differentiating right and wrong among the community. Our approach to the clean water project in Pakistan is designed to be independent and powerful.
Let’s delve into our approach:
- Community-Led Ownership: To identify a solution is necessary to find the root cause. Work with the community of the village and get the knowledge about their essential needs and the main location where the water can be supplied to the majority of areas. This approach will ensure long-term success.
- Advanced Water Purification Technology: The Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration plants are one of the best approaches to get clean and pure water. RO plants remove the dirt, bacteria, viruses, industrial waste, and substances like arsenic efficiently. Installing an RO plant is beneficial and lessens the water-borne disease rate.
- Local Training and Employment: Installing RO plants can offer job opportunities, as there are no job opportunities in rural areas, through training and employing the locals. It will be beneficial for the villagers to get clean water, and secondly, if there’s any dysfunctionality occurs in the system, then the skilled workers will maintain it immediately. This project will empower individuals while protecting the project’s future.
- Hygiene Education: The water-borne disease can also be spread after the installation of water plants if there’s no hygiene. If the people don’t know how to store it safely and don’t follow the hygiene practice, it will be harmful to their health. We will engage in regular hygiene and sanitation workshops to let them understand the importance of cleanliness. This approach will reduce the water-borne diseases and increase the health benefits of clean water projects Pakistan
The Impact of Safe Water Donation Pakistan:
The positive change of safe water donation Pakistan is not limited to a certain area and exceeds the limit of health improvements. A single donation for water in a rural area, is not only providing them with clean water it’s spreading its power in many aspects of their lives.
Installing water plants and providing clean water in rural areas are beneficial in such a way that people will become healthier, and the chances of illness will be reduced, resulting in regular attendance in school, financial stability, which helps families to save money for the future, and fewer health care issues.
Furthermore, women in the village will have the time to explore the opportunity for education and earning by having clean water near them that saves their time and allows them to learn new skills. The installation of water plants is a symbol of hope, providing them with opportunities to live a better life. It all can happen with just a single safe water donation for the Pakistani people.
